Tricks with Dad

Now that school's out Tyler is home more often. It's great to have him here in the mornings. He still goes into the office everyday, but the hours are not as rigid. This season he will be coaching varsity football, so he will be home less at night. :( Lily and I are excited to go watch his games on Friday night. For those of you who have never seen him coach, he gets rather animated. It's quite fun to watch. Let me know if you would like to come to a game with us. I believe they start in August.

Lately, Lily has been waving to people (sometimes). She copies the motion and gives a big smile. Also, when she is on her belly, she can move herself in a circle. She still hasn't quite figured out how to move forward and backward. I'm just fine with that though! I feel like it's going to get crazy once she starts to move. We definitely need to do a little babyproofing around here. The nose has been running and the drool has been dripping, but no teeth yet. We're thinking any day now.

Here are some pictures of Lily hanging out with Tyler. Check out those thighs...those are some rolls!! I remember when she was first born and I could wrap my thumb and pinky around her leg.

Dear Allison, Tyler and all gentle readers:

I am so glad to see Lily in her 4th of July apparel. She is definitely a little fire cracker.

It's good to know that Lily is on the cusp of teething. With her great intelligence and high moral character Lily is on the fast track to receive her First Holy Communion. As you know one must be prepared for First Reconciliation before First Holy Communion--but Lily will only need to be prepared--how could she ever need the Sacrament of Penance? Lily is what Mary Poppins is--Practically Perfect in Every Way.

God bless,

Fr. Steve

A note about Lily "hungry baby" Mayer

Dear Allison, Tyler, and all gentle readers:

Lily must be hungry.

Yesterday I was at our local grocery store and who did I see but Lily--being all excited about going grocery shopping. Of course when I was talking with Allison at least two people walked by and commented, "What a cute baby" which all of Lily's family and friends already know, though for others to notice is a good thing. But back to my point, I could tell that Lily was very excited about being in the grocery store and shopping for her favorite foods.

Then, this morning, Lily came to Mass at 11:30 am, and when Tyler came up to receive Holy Communion, Lily, in his arms, reached down to get her own host (her arms aren't long enough yet to reach that far).

Now, considering my earlier comments (see above) when I said Lily was on the fast track to receive her First Holy Communion I didn't mean that fast! But, Lily is hungry for Jesus, and that is a good thing.

God bless,

Fr. Steve
