A Lily Remix

Here's a Lily remix Maureen made. Lily thought she was very stylish wearing my glasses. Maureen got this really cool video recorder (thanks Andy) that is about the size of a cell phone. All you have to do is plug it into the computer to download the videos...no cords or anything!!!! Maureen has been documenting our whole trip.

Today, Lily and I we went for a walk at sunrise. We saw dolphins and Lily loved watching the waves. It was kinda nice to be forced to wake up. The past couple of times I visited the beach I would always sleep through the sunrise. Lily's 6:30 wake up call has made me sleepy, but it's definitly worth it to walk on the beach when there are very few people on it. I think Maureen, Aunt Liz and I may visit the Daiquiri Deck tomorrow. Sounds like trouble to me!!!!

The Pool

Here's Lily's first time in the pool. She loved it. A huge smile spreads across her face when she hits the water and then her legs start kicking like a mad woman!! She has a little floatie she likes to chill in. She was so relaxed in it yesterday, she almost fell asleep.

Lily at the Ocean

We're in FLORIDA!!!!! The video is Lily's first time in the ocean. It's been sunny and warm so far. Lily absolutely loves the pool. She's definitely a little swimmer. We've been having so much fun hanging out with Maureen. Matt and Dan (my cousins) have really taken to Lily. I think they were a little unsure at first, but now they love to hold her. Tyler is currently doing mission work in Mississippi. He's there with about 60 youth from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Please keep them all in your prayers.

On a different note, we had to put Patches to sleep on Friday. She had a huge tumor growing on her leg. It was difficult for her to walk and she just hadn't been herself in a while. She was Tyler's, Grandfather's dog and we got her after he passed away. Seriously, THE best dog ever. She had really become part of our family. We are going to miss her so much. I can't imagine going home and she won't be there. I know we did the right thing though.

Mom and Lily on Easter.

The Mayer Family on Easter. Thanks to Grandma Mayer for Lily's beautiful dress!!!!

So we started our Easter weekend here in Indy. We attended the Holy Thursday Mass which was beautiful, but slightly interesting. It was not too long ago we would drive to church and Lily would fall asleep and then sleep through all of Mass, but not anymore! Church always seems to be the perfect time to try out her new acrobat moves. She also enjoys making her motor boat noise. So keeping her under control for the 1 1/2 hour Mass interesting, especially since it started just before her bedtime routine begins. But I did not learn from my Thursday experience and I decided to bring her to Good Friday service and the Passion Play that evening. Thank goodness for Tyler and my parents!!!

We took off for Chicago on Saturday after Tyler coached the Girls Lacrosse team. Yes, Tyler coaches girls lacrosse. I too, am confused considering he has NEVER played lacrosse before. Lily and I are interested in attending some of the games. Please let us know if you would like to come with us.

5 months old

Happy 5 month birthday Lily! I added a picture of when Lily was 5 days old. I can't believe how much she has changed! Check out that double chin. She also has some major rolls on her thights and her stomach hangs over her pants. It may be time to hit the gym. Not only has she grown a ton, she's also starting to get into trouble. She's sitting on the desk in her Bumbo chair (the yellow thing she is sitting in on the previous post) right now. She does not want to play with any of her toys, instead she is grabbing for pens, paper, the printer, and any other possible thing she can get her hands on. I better go before she gets into serious trouble!!

Borrowed Camera

Lots has happened since my last post. First, we must thank Grandma Mark for letting us borrow her camera. We still haven't gotten one yet. Above is Lily eating one of her first meals consisting of rice cereal. Soon we will be adding fruits and vegetables. Mashed up peas....mmmm, delicious! Although, I have recently learned she has already sampled both whipped cream and ice cream, compliments of Uncle Andrew.

Here's Lily with her Great Aunt Sue. We traveled with Grandpa Mark to St. Louis to help him out on his business trip. We got to hang out with Aunt Sue during the day. It was gorgeous in St. Louis so we got to go on walks both days. Lily LOVED it! It was so nice to finally feel spring air.

Lily's new favorite toy is this yogurt cup. Glad to know we don't have to buy any of those expensive toys. We have a pretty exciting week coming up. We are planning to go to Chicago for Easter. It's been a while since we've seen the Mayer's so we're very excited. Also, Lily will get to meet her Great Grandma O'Brien for the first time. Then a week from Friday Lily and I leave to go to Florida with my cousin Maureen. I bought Lily a swimming suit, hat, and sunglasses. She LOVES to wear the sunglasses. It's hilarious. I will be sure to post some pictures of our upcoming festivities.

I almost forgot...Lily is sleeping MUCH better. So you're supposed to always have your baby sleep on her back to reduce the risk of SIDS, so that is exactly what I was doing. One day, I decided I would flip her on her stomach for her nap to see if it would help her sleep better. She took the longest nap ever!!!!!! I guess my little girl is just a stomach sleeper. And don't worry...the risk of SIDS goes way down after the child is 4 months old and can roll over.

Slight Misfortune

Our camera is missing!!!!! We think it may be gone forever. Tyler had it at the Youth Rally he worked and now it's gone. Lily and I are going to St. Louis this week to help Grandpa Mark. We hope to go shopping for a new camera when we get back. We did get our video camera working though. So hopfully, we will have some footage up soon.
