Getting into Trouble!

Lily loves to open and close the pantry door. Today she decided to see how much stuff she could take off the shelves. She was able to find her favorite snack and take the lid off. She proceeded to help herself to some of the puffs. She thought she was pretty cool.
We went to the doctor on Monday and everything looks good. She shot up in height and is now in the 95th percentile. She definitely does not get her height from me. Notice her onesie...it says BCHS Future Trojan. That is my alma mater and Tyler's current place of employment and now my place of employment. I will be working as the assistant in the campus ministry office. Yes, Tyler will be my boss, but only for 20 hours a week. I am his boss all the others. It should work out perfect, because my schedule will be flexible. Also, they are opening a day care center at Chatard, so Lily will literally be one floor below me. The people I nanny for are moving to Chicago, so that's why we had to come up with Plan B. I'm excited, but also a little sad I won't be with Lily those 20 hours.

9 Months

Yes, I know I'm late. I feel like there has not even been a minute to post. Plus, Lily has been teething and literally will NOT let me put her down. She was up until 1 AM on Thursday night. Poor thing! Hopefully, they pop through soon.
It's crazy to think that Lily has been living in the world, just as long as long as she was in the womb. I feel like she been around forever! Now, she gives kisses and kinda crawls. I would call it more creeping. You can put something in front of her and she will eventually get to it. She scoots and sometimes rolls, but she will always get it if she wants it.
So the picture taking did not go well this time. I tried 2 different sessions with her and she was all over the place. She wanted to keep crawling off the chair and hold the camera. And every time she would catch a glimpse of the paper she would grab it and try to eat it. I think the middle one is my favorite.

Another fun-filled weekend!

The Mayer's had a very exciting weekend! Tyler got to play golf with GENE KEADY!!!!! As a Purdue alum, that's pretty awesome. Tyler's buddy, Mike Hall (winner of Dream Job), works at the Big Ten Network with Gene and set up the whole thing. Look at those studs!

Tyler and Lily spent the weekend in Chicago. Lily made her first appearance at Sunset Pool. The summer employment of Tyler for many years and now Emily has followed in his footsteps. Just a few short years and she'll be conquering the waterslides.
They also got to celebrate Emily's 17th birthday!!!
Tyler got to go downtown and see Brian and Jenny! Tyler went to St. Thomas with them. They live in Minnesota, so it's a rarity that we get to see them. From the picture, I would say they had a good time.
While they were busy in Chicago, I visited Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. My friend Sharon Alexy, had her bachelorette party there. It's a totally cute town and the beach was beautiful. I had an amazing time getting to know some of her other friends. Sorry, no pictures...Tyler got the camera this weekend. It was hard being away from Lily and I was excited to come back and see her. When she saw me her little feet started to kick and she had a huge smile. She melted my heart for sure.

We're excited for this weekend.....absolutely NOTHING on the calendar. It will be great to just relax and hang out.

Lily's New Read

Thanks for the book Breezy! Now, Lily can learn what really happened to her father's hair!!!

Update

We think we may know who hit our car. A neighbor came over the other day and said she saw the car who hit Tyler's truck drive away. She thought it was owned by a teenager on the street. And sure enough, when we went to look at his car it had NO hood. We're hoping we can get this whole thing settled. There's actually a detective on the case. We'll keep you posted. Hopefully, we won't have to pay our outrageous deductible.

Also, tomorrow I'm leaving for a little vacation. A grade school friend, Sharon Alexy, is have her bachelorette party in Delaware. This is definitely bringing mixed emotions. I'm totally excited to go lie on the beach, take a little break, and hang out with Sharon. But I'm soooo sad about leaving Lily!!! I will be gone 3 WHOLE nights. The most I've been away is 24 hours.

Lily is going to have a great weekend, though. Tyler is taking her to Chicago and she'll get to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa Mayer all weekend. Tyler is pretty excited, because he gets to play golf with Gene Keady on Saturday. His friend, Mike Hall, who works for the Big Ten Network, works with him and set up this outing. All-in-all it's a pretty fun weekend for all of us. Sorry, no pics of Lily today, she's actually taking a nap!!!!!!!

Lily Loves Laundry!

Come to find out...Lily thinks the laundry basket is so fun! One day she was sitting next to a basket of folded clean laundry. One by one she picked up every piece of clothing and threw it. I was laughing so hard, I couldn't be mad that I had to refold the whole basket. Now, when I do laundry I just sit her right next to the basket and she helps "sort" it. Keeps her occupied! Also, her newest thing is to give kisses. She puts her mouth right on your mouth and cheek and applies slobber. Love it! She also has a new dance move, where she shakes her head and looks like Stevie Wonder. I'm hoping to get this one on tape. No teeth or crawling yet. Both are bound to come any day.

Happy 4th!

We were able to squeeze in a quick trip to the park.

Hanging out with Great Grandma Mayer!
The Parade!
Read below to see what happened!

We were MIA for a while, but we are back in Indy. We left last Wednesday for Chicago and came back on Sunday. We had a GREAT trip. The Freedom Four race started our festivities. Tyler ran as Lily and I walked around the course. She actually fell asleep in the stroller, which NEVER happens. We went to the parade and then had a BBQ at grandma's and grandpa's (including an amazing game of Apples to Apples). Then we headed to the MacDonald's house and finished with amazing fireworks over the lake. Lily didn't come this year, but we hope to take her next year. Nick and Christine had a party on the 5th and we had a blast there. We were non-stop busy!!! I wasn't a very good photographer this weekend and only got a couple of shots.
So the last picture...BOOOOO!!!! My mom had come over to our house on Saturday to find Tyler's truck looking like the above. Someone hit it and ran. The neighbors saw the car pulling away, but didn't get the license plate number. They called and at least got a police report. But since we can't catch the people who hit it, we are responsible for the deductible!! BOOOO AGAIN!!! I'll have to get a picture of the rental car Tyler got! It's neon blue!! haha!! They are supposed to tow the car today and determine how much the damage had been done.
Hope all of you had a great 4th of July!

Dad's First Day of Summer

Tyler has the WHOLE month of July off and Lily and I are so excited. We decided to start the month off with a trip to the Children's Museum. It was Lily's first time and she loved it. I think Tyler did too, because as soon as we got home he passed out on the couch. Too much excitement for him in one day. And you guessed it....Lily Grace Mayer did NOT pass out. She is still chillin and playing with her toys as I type.

Tyler and Lily with Martimus the Polar Bear. Lily's eyes were glued to him, so couldn't get a very good picture.
Going down the slide with Dad. She wasn't totally sure she liked this.
Lily on the ballerina bar. She would even go up on her tip toes. All she needed was a tutu.
More ballerina practice.
Lily and Tyler driving and Indy Race Car.

As with the merry-go-round at the zoo, Lily didn't know if she particularily liked it. Her face made me totally crack up!!! All-in-all we had a wonderful day and we're looking forward to the rest of the month with Dad.
