Grandma and Grandpa

Why do I have the feeling that this baby is going to be quite spoiled?

The Pumpkin

Look at the pumpkin! Uncle Nick said that she really did not taste too much like a pumpkin though.

Finally!!!

Currently Lily enjoys sleeping during the day and crying at night. This is a pleasant sight after two hours of feeding and calming down!

After 9 Months of Pregnancy and 41 Hours of Labor...

No one deserves it more!

Coming Home

After 66 hours at the hospital we are finally home. Patches does not know what to think.

More pictures

Here are some more pictures of Lily. Maureen...sorry your head got cut off.

Celebrating the Birth

What better way to celebrate the birth than with Rally's (Brian...you might remember this from Louge's wedding). Nothing says welcome to a new baby than a 99 cent double cheeseburger, chili cheese fries, and some indigestion. Just ask Fr. Meyer!

Pictures of Babe

Nothing much to say. Allison did an outstanding job with the birth and Lily is the coolest baby in the history of time!

It's a GIRL !!!!! Lily Grace Mayer was born on Wed Oct 17, 2007 around 7:30 p.m. weighing 7 lbs 8 oz and 21" long. She had her large beautiful eyes open for the first 2 hours; very calm baby, no crying yet. Mom, Dad and baby are spending their first night together at St. Vincent Hospital. All are doing well. Grandma Mark and I peeked under her little pink cap, and we're pretty sure that's BLOND hair!

Hopefully, Tyler will post some pics on this blog tomorrow!

Submitted by the NEW Grandma Mayer!

It's 2:16 p.m. EST and Allison is doing well. They turned up the Pitossin (sp) and contractions are more frequent. When Emily and I left the hospital 20 minutes ago, she was asking for her epidural. We would love to give you a time line, but 1st baby doesn't have one; we will keep you posted. Tyler and (soon to be) Grandma Mark are doing well also!

Second Trip

So it is 1:45 in the morning and we are off to the hospital once again. I think the White Castle I slipped into Allison's dinner has finally kicked in. Allison is in a lot of pain as the contractions are becoming more strong and closer together. Thank you once again for all of the prayers!

Long Day...Nothing Yet

Well, It has been a long day. Allison has had contractions all day, but with little progress. We went to the doctor when her contractions were 3-6 minutes for about two hours, but we were sent home becuase she was only 1 centimeter dialated. After several hours, and even more contractions, we still wait for the go ahead to head back to the hospital. The contractions are getting stronger, but they are still lasting at 8-10 minutes apart. We appreciate all of the notes and prayers...We are going to go get something to eat now....maybe that will push this whole process along. I suggested White Castle, but that got a veto. (Don't tell Allison, but I am going to try and slip a White Castle slider in her food when she is not looking anyways....)

On Our Way

Allison has been having contractions since two o'clock this morning. It is 8:40 our time and we are going to leave for the hospital. Hopefully the next time we return we will have a sleeping/eating/pooping machine with us!

Trying to Move This Labor Thing Along

In an attempt to move this whole labor thing along we went to the pumpkin patch yesterday. It looks like Allison is trying to steal a pumpkin by hiding it in her shirt in some of these pictures.

On the other hand, I tried to hurry the process along by scaring Allison. I don't think it worked, but man do I look tough!

Here is a picture of Allison! Man, I bet she wishes the baby would get here soon!

Getting Ready

Well, it is 5 days and counting (hopefully less) that our baby is supposed to arrive. Allison and I thought it would be a good idea to start a blog (thanks to the Nash Family) in order to keep everyone updated with information and pics of our new baby. At this point in time Allison is quite large (but you can't tell her that because you might get slapped.....trust me) and we are both ready for that baby to get here. We just want to know what it looks like, and, more importantly, who it is more like...Allison or Me. Either way we are excited!
