Thomas is on the left and Lucy is on the right. Thomas is about 1 lb. bigger than Lucy. Lucy has really dark hair and Thomas' is light. They are both great eaters and I can usually feed them at the same time. The nights haven't even been that horrible! I was actually expecting worse. They went for their one week check-up and everything seems great.
There were many questions about the two deliveries. Lucy was delivered first and everything went great! I delivered in the operating room, since it was considered a high risk pregnancy and there were more doctors and nurses in the room...just in case. Tyler was taking pictures of Lucy and the nurses were telling me how great she looked. I was resting, preparing to deliver Thomas when I glanced at my doctor's face and could tell something was definitely not right. At the same time there was a fluster in the room and I saw that lots of doctors and nurses starting running in the room. There was tons of commotion and some yelling. They put the oxygen mask on my face and to my surprise I was staying very calm. The nurse explained to me that Thomas' umbilical cord had slipped down and if I delivered, Thomas would not get any oxygen. I was going to have to have a c-section. Then a man (not sure who he was) told me they were taking good care of me and everything was going to be ok. The next thing I knew...I woke up. Thomas and Lucy were both healthy and getting their baths. So happy to have my family all home and healthy. Now I just have to get back on my feet before the BIG wedding!
